FAQ
What do you do on the ground?
The HumanVillage association does not work directly on the ground; it provides a shop window for associations, citizens and businesses so they can communicate about their own solidarity-based activities.
We help local associations working all over the world with their biggest needs: being recognised, finding volunteers and sharing good practice.
We are an association made up of people who are passionate about communication, new technologies and multimedia, but also about listening to others.
We are therefore a positive, solidarity-based communication NGO.
Why bother talking about good news?
We’re overwhelmed with bad news every evening.
The evening news is always telling us about disasters; it never tells us when young people rebuild a village in Burkina Faso or an association cleans a river of pollution.
Actually, there is a lot of good news and many positive projects in the world. Each of the men and women involved in these projects, whether through NGOs or businesses, are extraordinary people.
Our desire is to give a voice to all those who are changing the world – and at the same time to bring a fresh breath of optimism to a society that is too often beaten down by fear and inequality.
Why put ecology and solidarity together?
HumanVillage is dedicated to the men and women of this planet. It’s impossible to respond to a population’s needs without taking environmental aspects into account.
Ecological projects such as installing renewable energy or infrastructure gives populations who are affected by poverty the chance to develop.
Ecology and solidarity must go hand in hand in a common, shared vision – that of a more harmonious future for humanity, indissociable from respecting and preserving our planet’s essential resources.
